FDS - Flood and Wash-out

 

 

 

NGRT FDS is a system which detects submerged railway infrastructure that can subsequently cause a hazardous situation. A NGRT Main Assembly with 2 Flood Detection Units per track is installed on the client’s infrastructure.

 

The distance between installations can vary depending on the client’s requirements. After detecting anomalies and evaluating the type of anomalies, a warning is sent to the customer's specified location or recipient(s), such as the train operations centre, train control centre, infrastructure maintenance team or the responsible track engineers.

 

The Flood Detection solution is not based on the standard NGRT Vibration Detection Unit functionality. The Flood Detection Units will be placed on the sleepers and thus able to detect when water is present or not. We are therefore able to determine when the tracks are beginning to be covered by water, and also when completely submerged.
